Good causes can apply for community grants from PCC
Good causes in the West Midlands can apply for funding to tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour in their communities.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson is offering one-off grants of up to £2,000 from his Stronger Communities Fund.
As well as tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, the aim of the grants is to strengthen relationships with the police and empower residents.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson said: "These one-off grants can make a real difference to communities. "Previous successful applications have included funding for after-school clubs, sports clubs and community events.
"The principal aim of the Stronger Communities Fund is to provide small grants to help local projects and groups succeed.
I also want to encourage community contact with local police to increase trust and confidence and reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
" The fund will open to applications on September 5 and decisions on which schemes have been successful will be made in October by the Commissioner.

The Stronger Communities Fund replaces the Community Initiatives Fund.
To be successful, projects need to fulfil at least one of the following: improving community safety; responding to a community need; promoting partnership working; building stronger communities; engaging or empowering young people; supporting victims of crime.
