Ashen Trust LESS CO2 Sustainable Schools Programme (UK) – Deadline: Rolling

The LESS CO2 Sustainable Schools programme is a free energy efficient programme available to any UK school including Council run, academy, or independent schools.

Funded via the Ashden Trust Sustainable Schools programme, the LESS CO2 Sustainable Schools programme links schools within an area together into a geographically close ‘cluster’.

Each cluster brings together teachers, bursars and school managers for a year-long energy saving programme that includes workshops covering energy saving, from recording meter readings to behaviour change for staff and students, and incorporating energy-related sustainability issue into the curriculum.

The sessions are typically led by teachers or representatives from schools that have won an Ashden Award, we know that schools learn best from hearing the experiences of other schools – this is the key to the success of LESS CO2.

As well as saving energy and money, LESS CO2 helps children in primary and secondary schools take more responsibility in the running of their school and makes students and staff more aware of the impact they have, through the use of energy, on their environment. Each school in the UK is eligible to apply by registering an interest on the LESS CO2 at any time
