National Lottery Community Fund (The): Reaching Communities England (Covid-19) (England) – Deadline: Rolling

This programme now focuses on funding projects and organisations helping communities through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Given the emergency, The National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities England programme is looking to award funding to cover six months of expenditure. They expect most funding will be between £10,000 and £100,000 but they may consider larger grants or longer time frames by exception.

The National Lottery are looking to fund Covid-19 projects and will prioritise:

• Organisations supporting people who are at high risk from Covid-19,

• Organisations supporting people most likely to face increased demand and challenges as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, and,

• Organisations which connect communities and support communities to work together to respond to Covid-19.

They can support if you are struggling financially because of Covid-19 and can help you make up some of the losses, so you can keep helping your community through the pandemic and continue to support them afterwards. They are also looking for organisations to be people-led, strengths-based and connected as much as possible.

They can fund:

• Staff salaries,

• Project activities,

• Running costs,

• Small-scale refurbishment,

• Equipment,

• Organisational development,

• Contributions to fixed costs,

• Investments in your systems,

• Investments in your people,

• Investments in your infrastructure,

• Dedicated capacity development.

You can apply if you are a:

• Voluntary or community organisation,

• Registered charity or charitable incorporated organisation (CIO),

• Group of organisations, as long as they are led by a voluntary or community organisation,

• Schools,

• Statutory body (including local authorities, town, parish, or community council),

• Not-for-profit company including companies limited by guarantee and Community Interest Companies with two or more directors.

If you are an incorporated group they might be able to fund you but they normally expect groups to use funding to incorporate and, where appropriate, register as a charity.
