JP Morgan and the Sutton Trust Bursary Fund for Lower Income University Students (UK) – Deadline: Rolling

A new £4.8 million bursary has been launched by JP Morgan and the Sutton Trust to remove barriers to in-demand, well-paying careers for lower-income university students – 60% of whom will be Black and other ethnic minorities.

Bursaries of up to £5,000 will be available in the UK over the next ten years to help low income students access extra-curricular and enrichment activities that help improve their employability skills.

The bursaries will help finance opportunities like internships, a semester abroad, volunteering experiences, additional training and essential living costs, including accommodation, subsistence and study materials.

Bursaries will initially be awarded to Sutton Trust alumni who are currently studying at university but will open up to include students who meet similar social mobility criteria from 2022.

The programme will open to applications in summer 2021.
