Department for Media, Culture and Sport (The) Funding to Improve Energy Efficiency (England) – Deadline: 31st August 2024

Eligible voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in England

can now apply for funding to help them reduce their energy costs and improve their energy efficiency. The £25.5 million VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme is part of a package of over 42 £100 million of support being delivered by the government to help frontline delivery organisations with the increased cost of living. The scheme is open to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in England that meet the following criteria:

• Must be a registered VCSE with a charity number,

• Must have a turnover of less than £25 million,

• Must be based in England,

• Must be responsible for the premises they wish to improve.

The VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme offers two types of funding:

• Independent energy assessment: Organisations can apply for funding to cover the cost of an independent energy assessment. This assessment will help identify the most effective measures for reducing their energy costs. This part of the scheme is now open for applications and will remain open until August 2024,

• Capital grant: Organisations that have received an energy assessment may be eligible for a capital grant to install the recommended energy efficient measures in their premises. This part of the scheme will open to applications in January 2024 and grant rounds will also run until August 2024. The funding can be used to install a range of energy efficiency measures, including: • LED lighting,

• Energy-efficient heating and ventilation,

• Insulation,

• Smart meters.
