Sport England Active Partnerships Funding to Help Schools Open Their Sports Facilities (England) – Deadline: Rolling

£10.1 million of funding is being made available to enable schools in England to open their sports and swimming facilities outside of the school day to encourage pupils to be more physically active once the Covid-19 pandemic is over.

The funding, which is being made through Sport England and distributed by Active Partnerships – locally based organisations that specifically focus on getting people in their area involved in sport and physical activity, will target areas and schools most in need, especially those with high inactivity in children.

This new funding will help Active Partnerships support their local schools to open their facilities in a Covid-secure manner and could include helping them to buy new equipment for sports and activities, as well as arranging additional cleaning and clear signage to help maintain social distancing.

It will allow facilities to stay open during evenings, weekends and school holidays, providing more sports clubs and activity facilities to children and the wider community, and improve access to equipment for pupils with disabilities.
